What is Kleresca Acne Treatment?

Kleresca acne treatment uses the combination of a gel applied to your skin and LED light,  to settle your acne. The gel is called a light converter.  The interaction of the LED light with the gel transforms it into a pulsing fluorescent light.

And this is when it gets cool:

  • The pulsing fluorescent light penetrates deeply into your skin.
  • The blue light component destroys the acne-causing bacteria.
  • The red light component settles the inflammation underlying the acne.
  • The red light also stimulates collagen production in your skin by 400%, so helping prevent acne scarring.

In short, Kleresca harnesses the power of light to safely treat your acne and stimulate the tissue’s repair systems in a series of treatments.

How Many Kleresca Acne Treatments Do You Need?

The typical treatment course consists of twelve,  administered twice weekly for six weeks. You need to come in two days each week for approximately 1/2 hour. Eg. Tuesday and Saturday each week for six weeks.

We are open until 7 pm on Thursday and  5.30 other weekdays and are open on Saturdays, to allow for after school or work hours to get your twice weekly treatment. The total Kleresca acne treatment takes 20 minutes in all.

Is Kleresca designed for all acne treatments?

Kleresca can be used to settle most forms of acne quickly. The initial scientific studies where performed on moderate to severe acne. But any inflammatory acne will respond to Kleresca. It is essential to look at all factors that can exacerbate your acne, food, stress, use of makeup, hair products, sunscreen to assist in rapid settling.

It does not help with blackheads, and whiteheads and you will need extractions facial or deep cleansing peels to clear non-inflammatory acne spots. Other non-prescription treatments such as peels with LED lights are useful for mild acne.

At SkinRevision we provide information on all the measures you can take to not only reduce your zits but also steps to reduce their return.

How does Kleresca Work?

The Kleresca gel works by penetrating the oil glands, where the bacteria known as P. acnes causes the infection. This infection underlies all breakouts including pustules, pimples (zits), cysts and nodules. Once the cream has penetrated the oil gland, blue light is used to activate the gel, causing an oxidation process which destroys the bacteria.

The primary mode of action though is the activated light settles inflammation and normalises cellular activity. It is the process of resolving inflammation that perhaps accounts for a rapid onset of action. Inflammation is now understood to be a central mechanism in acne.

How Is Kleresca different from Omnilux and Other Light therapy?

Red, infrared and blue light from LED’s has been used for over two decades to treat a variety of skin conditions.  These are useful for the treatment of mild acne. However, LED light therapy alone cannot penetrate adequately to address most breakouts from P. acnes and more severe acne.

The Kleresca system converts plain LED light (such as from Omnilux or Healite)  into a pulsing fluorescent light. And it is the pulsing fluorescent light that can penetrate lower into the dermis and accentuate the calming, healing and collagen stimulating effects of plain LED light — effectively making the light stronger than LED on its own.

What are the steps for Kleresca Therapy?

  1. Your skin is cleansed.
  2. Two components of the gel are mixed to form the active gel.
  3. The gel is applied to the areas affected by acne  15 minutes for absorption into the target area (the infected pimple pustule, cyst or nodule).
  4. Oil glands absorb the gel.
  5. Kleresca cream is illuminated with LED for 9 minutes. The gel then acts to magnify the effect of blue light.
  6.  The treatment is warm (but not painful), expect the degree the feeling of a mild sunburn on your skin.
  7. The gel converts the light into pulsing fluorescent light.
  8. The fluorescent light settles skin inflammation, normalises oil gland activity and destroys bacteria.

Kleresca has been researched to show it is a valid, more natural acne treatment.

How long does the Kleresca treatment last?

More than one cycle of treatment is sometimes required. However many acne patients can be placed into remission with Kleresca. Studies have proven period of six to 12 months. Even with oral vitamin A, there is on 60-70% cure rate, so considering the safety profile, the speed at which it works, it is front and centre as an option.
