Hello I have had dark spots appearing on the backs of my hands since I turned 40. I have been told they are liver spots, my mother had them and as she got older they started to look really horrible. I have noticed now I have a brown spot developing on my cheek. Is this also a liver spot and will the pulsed light get rid of this as well. Should I come in and let you have a look, I do not want to bother you, but I really do not want to let my hands get any worse or for these horrible liver spots to spread over my face. Hi Maeve, the term liver spot is a common name used for flat brown spots that appear on the hands and face, some people call them age spots or sun spots. The answer to your question, yes IPL is effective to remove liver spots from the hands and face as well. 1. The number of treatments for removal of liver spots is individual, generally we would say 2-4.
2. The cost depends on the area to be treated and the number of shots required, we give free assessments, so it is best to come in and we will have a look and then we can let you know accurately. If you let me know where the liver spots are ie face, hands etc, I can give a ball park figure.
