Intense pulsed light (IPL) reduces age spots: returning a more even colour and texture to the skin.
Age spots typically occur on the face and hands and are caused from sun damage years before they appear. Fading creams seldom have any effect, however laser treatments and intense pulsed light (IPL) are effective to remove unsightly spots and return and even colour to the skin.
Advantages of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL, S IPL) in removing age spots.
Intense Pulsed light treatments are an effective, affordable and safe means of removing age spots and have several advantages over older laser technologies.

I was just wondering what sort of cost would be involved.I am 49 years old and I have an “age spot” on the left side of my face, just under my cheek bone.Iit is flat and smooth and about the size of an adult thumb nail.
I realise it must be difficult to give an exact cost, but a ball park would be helpful. It would be interesting to know if it will be removable.
What sort of waiting list do you have?
Kind Regards

Hi Karen, to remove one age spot would not cost very much at all, ($50-$80) the treatment cost depends on the size of the area to be treated. The best thing is to come in and let me look at the size of the age spot and then I can be exact. Call us on 33505447 to book a free consultation.

Hi I have age spots appearing on my cheeks and backs of my hands. I am now 52 and I remember when I was young my grandmother having spots on the back of her hands and face, and it used to horrify me. Now I am going the same way. I really do not care about the cost is at this point, I really want them gone. I find I am wearing heavy makeup, which does not even cover the pigmentation any more, and I am always hiding my hands. I feel ridiculous at this age to be so self conscious about my appearance, but I just can’t help it. What I want to know is the IPL really effective to remove age spots?

Hi Sue, yes I know the thought of a light based treatment, that does not cause harm to the normal skin being able to remove age spots and other pigmentation seems quite fantastic, but it does. At the very least you should expect vast reduction in the pigmentation so that you will feel comfortable going out without makeup and not having to worry about hiding your hands. Call us to book a free consultation and we will show you before and after shots and explain the process fully. Jo

I have had this treatment several times on my hands and I still have these horrible brown marks.
Any suggestions?
Thank you.
Dr Joanne Turner responded on 10 Sep 2008 at 11:19 am #
Hi Lois, I would really need to assess the age spots on your hands and to find out what IPL treatment you had. Firstly I would need to see the spots to diagnose what is happening with them and secondly there are alot of machines on the market that do not reach sufficient power to remove of fade pigmentation marks on the hand. So there are a couple of factors that could be contributing to a less than optimal outcome. The best thing is to book in for a free assessment we will look at the pigmentation marks on your hands and may be able to come up with some solution. Jo

Hi I have pale skin and have freckles on my face, neck, back and arms i was wondering what would be the best treatment to remove them and how much it would cost?
Linda responded on 09 Oct 2009 at 4:56 pm #
How many treatments would you need.
Dr Joanne Turner responded on 12 Oct 2009 at 6:04 pm #
Hi Linda, for fading age spots you are generally looking at 2-6 treatments. How many is required depends on the amount of colour (pigmentation) in the the spots to be treated and the amount of pigmentation in your skin to start with. The treatments are spaced monthly and there is a progressive response. The best thing is to come in for a free assessment. We may be able to be a little more accurate once we assess the pigmentation, we will go through what to expect and can give an accurate quote and test patch the area to be treated.
If you are interested call us on 33504625 to book a free assessment consultation at the outset.
