Skin Rejuvenation is a descriptive term that has been applied to a number of skin treatments. Rejuvenation means to ‘renew’: however there is no panacea treatment that will achieve this. There are several cosmetic treatment modalities that can assist in treating surface signs of sun damage, aging and many other skin concerns.
As a Cosmetic Medicine Clinic we perform a skin and facial analysis on you. We will help you understand what is happening with your skin and face and be able to discuss options for treatment of cosmetic skin concerns.
Conditions we commonly consult on:
Aging skin care: We have knowledge of the changes that occur to the skin and face from intrinsic and extrinsic aging.
: sun damage and melasma.
:skin roughness, dryness.
:
Acne and acne scarring
Skin Sensitivity: Sensitivity in the skin is from inflammation and we categorise according to the sensitivity. Rosacea, acne, allergic and dry stinging subtypes. We are not dermatologists so if we believe you skin condition requires referral we can do this. With our medical skin consultations there is a fee which is partially claimable on medicare.
Skin pigmentation problems: solar lentigo (freckles), sun damage and melasma.
Skin Analysis and skin care advise We come from a medical perspective and our advise is based on the effectiveness of ingredients in skin care. We do not advocate use of expensive skin care but apply our knowledge of skin care products and prescription creams to educate you so you can make informed decisions on treatment.
Have You Got A Cosmetic Skin Concern?
Book a consultation with either our Cosmetic Doctor or Nurse. All cosmetic skin assessments are free, however if it is concerning a medical skin condition (acne, rosacea, allergies, skin pigmentation) there is a consultation fee that is claimable on medicare. Discuss this with our receptionists when you call for your appointment.
In the consultation we perform a skin typing and analysis and give you education so you can understand what is happening with your skin.
We will provide advise on skin care, including low cost options. We will explain the place of each skin care product and if needed provide prescription treatments.
At the consultation we can also provide information on treatments we have available. We will give an opinion on what you can realistically expect from each treatment, what is involved in the treatment process including any potential side effects and be able to give an accurate quote, so you can make an informed decision on skin care and treatments.

Hi I have lots of skin pigmentation and veins around my nose. My beautician said I should look at IPL skin rejuvenation. I found your site which is really informative. But I was wondering how many treatments are required and what would be the cost for IPL face treatment. Also what does IPL mean?
Hi Karen, IPL is a trade mark for the first intense pulsed light machine, but it has become used more generally now to refer to intense pulsed light treatments. However there is a lot of variation in pulsed light machines. We use the Palomar S IPL, which we feel gives more comfortable treatment AND very good results. Your beautician was on the mark, it sounds like skin rejuvenation or photo rejuvenation is exactly what will help you. The cost depends on the area to be treated and a full face intense pulsed light treatment costs between $330 to $380. The number of treatments depends on what we are treating and can vary. Come in for a free assessment, we will go through everything with you. We will make sure we can achieve what you want, be able to tell you how many treatments you may require and give an accurate quote. regards Jo
