Surface capillaries are small vessels that occur on the face, neck and chest in people with sun-damage or rosacea and are most effectively treated with a new laser like technology called pulsed light therapy.
How does Intense Pulsed Light work?
Intense Pulsed light therapy is effective in treating broken capillaries of the face and body to get rid of unsightly redness and restore and an even skincolour.
It will takes around four treatments and progressively fades the unsightly redness
caused by the surface vessels.

I am thinking of getting some intense pulsed light treatment on my chest as a few little veins has emerged. Would this be the best treatment? How much does this cost and how long does it last? Can this treatment be used on spider veins on the legs also?

Hi Julie, intense pulsed light therapy is generally very effective for capillaries on the chest. It one of the safest and most cost effective ways of dealing with these. It it not however used to treat spider veins on the legs, you need injections or laser treatments for these as the vessels are much deeper. The cost depends on the area that needs to be treated, I will email you with the estimates of this, though we have to assess the area before we can really given an accurate quote. Any vessels that we get rid of will not come back. These vessels are primarily caused from sun damage, so if after treatment you protect yourself from further damage the results should be long lasting. However ususally after a period, may be 5-10 years you may want to get another treatment. Once again when we assess the area you are talking about we can give a more accurate assessment of this.
