Axillary hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating of the armpit responds well to local injections.
Axillary hyperhidrosis occurs in young, healthy people and has the following characteristics.
Simple armpit injections to stop sweating.
Injections to armpits, hands and feet are increasingly being used, as a minimally invasive treatment providing relief for an average of 7 months for patients with primary hyperhidrosis, who do not respond to other measures satisfactorily.

Frustratingly, TGA regulations in Australia restrict naming of these injections as they are class S4 medication to be administered by a Doctor with training. They are approved for treatment of excessive sweating of the underarm and have a well established safety profile.

On your website you are promoting a surgical procedure that is experimental, there are no independent studies to prove the effectiveness and safety of the procedure. It is know to cause serious conditions that are far worse than the original condition the patients wanted the treatment for.

Mia, On my website and in my practice, I say that surgical options are not reliable and WOULD NEVER recommend sympathectomy. Thankyou for your comment, I will get onto the page and check to make sure that I have correctly put across my point of view, because you are right..sympathectomy is not indicated for hyperhidrosis , the majority of people after surgery experience compensatory sweating in other areas and this is often worse than the original sweating and the quality of life after surgery is worse than before.
Thankyou for taking the time to make this comment.
