Marionette line is a common term used to describe changes that occur on the chin area with facial aging. As we age there is atrophy of structures under the skin, and descent of facial cheek pads. The groove and sometimes fold and line that occur on the chin area result from a combination of these changes.
Dermal Fillers Are Used To Replace Volume.
Dermal fillers are substances that are injected into the skin to replace volume loss and help improve the cosmetic appearance of the marionette line.

I am 54 – female. My marionette lines are deep. What would be the best approach.
Hi Deborah, I will email you with the details of some of the filler options used to treat the marionette lines. However to be accurate with the information we provide we do need to assess you. The assessment is free and without obligation. In the consultation we will assess your face and be able to explain what can realistically be achieved, what is involved in treatment and provide an accurate quote. Once you have all the information you can then make a decision on any treatments with all the facts at hand.
Hi Dr Turner
I am looking into have my marionette lines removed.
Would you please advise how long will the last
and are there any side effects
Thanking you
Henry
Hi Henry, We use dermal fillers to treat marionette lines and the time this lasts depends on several factors, including the product chosen. However the results are individual as our bodies all respond differently and break down the products at varying rates. It is not a permanent treatment and if you wish to maintain the treatment result you will require a top up generally at 12 months. We cannot discuss the individual dermal fillers here so it is best to get an appointment for assessment.
During the assessment we will be able to advise appropriate dermal fillers and give a better indication of how long you expect it to last.
We use fillers that have established safety and side effects most commonly include risk of bruising swelling and redness to the site. The best thing is to come in for a free assessment, we will assess the volume loss in the marionette area, recommend suitable fillers, explain the treatment fully including side effects, how long it will last and give an accurate quote. You will then be able to make a decision on whether to proceed with treatment with all the facts at hand. Call us on 33505447 to book a free consultation.
