Acne Treatment And Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is an excellent treatment to rapidly settle mild to moderate acne. It works like a deep cleansing (sucking out and mildly abrading pore obstruction) to resolve pimples, whiteheads and blackheads.

The layer of skin that is removed in very fine and consists of dead skin cells that have been adding to pore obstruction and acne, so the skin is not damaged in the process

    Non Surgical Cheek Enhancement

Non surgical cheek enhancement is used to increase volume into the midface. There are two main types of treatment.

    1. To treat volume loss that occurs in the midface area with aging.
This is used for a less young group, who have lost volume in the cheek area. High cheek bones support the skin and muscles of the face, and with age the cheek pads descend creating flattening and changing the frame of the face. Cheek enhancement uses dermal filler to replace volume into the cheek area in the nasojugal groove and areas of cheek flattening.

    2. Treatment in younger women and men.
This is a less common treatment and can help address assymetry or less defined cheekbones.

    Marionette Line Treatment

Marionette line is a common term used to describe changes that occur on the chin area with facial aging. As we age there is atrophy of structures under the skin, and descent of facial cheek pads. The groove and sometimes fold and line that occur on the chin area result from a combination of these changes.

Dermal Fillers Are Used To Replace Volume.

Dermal fillers are substances that are injected into the skin to replace volume loss and help improve the cosmetic appearance of the marionette line.

    Nasolabial Fold Treatment

Nasolabial line or fold describes the groove that developes between the nose and mouth. It is caused primarily by volume loss and descent of the cheek pad. Because the skin is attached to deeper structures at this point the fold developes in this area.

Dermal fillers can be used to replace volume loss in the area to lessen the appearance of the line or fold.

In recent years the focus has shifted away from treating the nasolabial fold in isolation. As the central cause is volume loss from the cheek pad descent, replacing volume in the cheek area can be a more appropriate treatment approach.

    Non Surgical Rhinoplasty

The Non surgical rhinoplasty is a procedure that uses dermal fillers to achieve reshaping of the nose without surgery.

Two approaches to achieve changes to nose shape.

    1. A surgical Rhinoplasty performed by a plastic surgeon is the most common. It has advantages in that it is permanent. There is down time and recovery. Costs of Rhinoplasty $5000-$10,000
    2. Non Surgical Rhinoplasty is an alternative to achieve improvement in concerns with the nose. It is not permanent. Cost of Non surgical rhinoplasty $990. Not all nose concerns can be addressed non surgically.

What is a non surgical rhinoplasty?

    1. Dermal filler is used to camouflage defects. The length of time it lasts depends on individual factor but we expect it will last about 1 year. Topical numbing is used to help with the comfort.
    2. The result of the treatment is immediate.
    3. There is some swelling after the treatment and sometimes there is a bruise.

What Treatments Are Suitable For A Non Surgical Approach?

  • A flat bridge: typical of Asian ethnicity dermal filler placement can create a subtle increase in height.
  • slightly crooked nose
  • a bump or hook on the bridge of the nose can be camouflaged
  • a nose that appears too large or too small in comparison with other facial features
  • a nose that is crooked or off-center
  • a nose that was injured so that the nose is asymmetrical
  • a nose that needs refinement after surgical rhinoplasty
  • What Treatment Is Appropriate For Your Concerns?

Depending on the concern you have with your nose a surgical or non surgical approach might be best. What is most appropriate depends on what is happening with your face. At SkinRevision we offer a free cosmetic consultation.
