Tear Trough Filler - For Under Eye Hollows And Dark Circles

Commonly referred to as dark circles under the eye or under eye hollows, tear troughs are a groove that lies beneath the lower eyelid giving the face a tired and aged look.

Dark circles under eyes, before filler treatment. Tear Troughs after fillers

Sometimes the tear trough is exacerbated by a puffy lower eye lid. Though the bagginess under the eye cannot be removed without surgery, filling the tear trough with a safe effective filler can dramatically reduce the dark circles and hollows and improve the cosmetic appearance of the bagginess creating a more refreshed and younger look around the eye area.

Before treatment, tear troughs and under eye bagginess After treatment with tear trough filler.

Simple filler injections get rid of dark circles or hollows under the eye.

Although not everyone is suitable for tear trough fillers, the majority of people will achieve a huge improvement in cosmetic appearance with simple placement of filler into the hollow under the eye.

Because the dark circle is caused prominently from shadowing in the tear trough, the filler not only improves the darkness but creates a more youthful look and in many cases effectively disguises puffiness or bagging under the eye.

Kylie has turned to the latest and most natural skin rejuvenation facial treatment: Regenlab’s Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy. The facial is designed to stimulate new collagen and improve the health and youthfulness of the skin.

Called Biological cell therapy the treatment involves having your own platelet rich plasma extracted and re-injected under the skin to stimulate your own skin cells to produce collagen and elastin.

Acne Scar Removal

There are several treatment modalities available for Acne scar removal. As a general rule skin needling is the most effective across a broad range of acne scars, however this is not universal.

Acne scars are a persistent defect of the skin left after injury from acne. They never disappear completely, although some improve with time, most will worsen. What are the different types of acne scars and what treatments are available to improve your skins appearance?

acne scar treatment before needling Needling acne scars after 2 clinic treatments.

What are the different types of acne scars:

1. Macular scarring - is not really a scar, but a flat area of increased or decreased pigmentation that occurs after the acne lesion has healed. If left alone this type of acne scarring generally will improve or even disappear all by itself. However this can take months or even years.

  • To speed up the removal process skin needling is very effective in combination with prescription skin treatments.
  • 2. Boxcar scars - are surface punched out acne scars that appear oval or round.

  • This type of acne scarring can be effectively improved with skin needling
  • 3. Rolling scars - are caused from tethering of the skin to deeper structures. These acne scars cause the skin to undulate in appearance (hence the name).

  • skin needling is the preferred method of treating these scars.
  • Subcision is another technique that is suitable for treating depressed acne scars. It involves putting a special needle under the depressed scar to help release it from the underlying structures. It is often combined with skin needling.
  • Other treatments for removal of rolling acne scars include plasma regeneration treatment.
  • Laser acne scar removal is rarely used.
  • 4. Deep divots/Ice pick scar - both result from deep scarring and loss of tissue under the skin. Ice pick scar appear as small holes where as the divots are a larger hole.

  • Skin needling can help improve some deep scarring
  • Deeper scarring may also require filling with dermal fillers.
  • Subcision is used to release deep tethering
  • 5. Hypertrophic scarring/keloid scars are similar in appearance, both are thick lumpy scars and often have increased pigmentation.

  • Injection of steroids
  • Silicon gels may aid in healing of raised scars.
  • acne scarring and pigmentation before treatment acne scarring and pigmentation after treatment

    Acne scar removal summary

    1. Skin Needling.
Skin needling uses a medical roller or tattoo gun (without the pigment) to puncture the skin and stimulate collagen production and lift up indented acne scars and flatten raised acne scars. Advantages:

  • cost effective treatment
  • used safely on darker skin types
  • penetrates deep enough to improve even deep acne scars
  • minimal downtime -two to three days
  • improves overall skin collagen health
  • 2. Laser acne scar removal
Because of the downtime (months) and risks of scarring ablative laser treatment is not generally considered the best option for treatment of acne scars.

    3. Plasma regeneration treatment is considered a more viable treatment for acne scar removal. There is no downtime, no risk of scarring or pigment changes to the skin.

    4. Subcision

  • used to treat deep depressed acne scars often used with skin needling.
  • 5. Superficial Chemical peels

  • can achieve some improvement with milder scarring.
  • 6. Microdermabrasion

  • generally not the most appropriate treatment for acne scarring.
  • Sometimes with very mild acne scarring some improvement can be achieved with multiple treatments, however other methods are considered more appropriate.
  • 7. Cortisone injections

  • useful for treatment of thickened raised hypertrophic and keloid scarring
  • silicon gel treatments have been used alone or combination with cortisone injections.
  • The effectiveness of silicon gels is anecdotal at this point however considering it is relatively inexspensive and safe treatment it is worth trying.
  • 8. Dermal fillers

  • very effective for some forms of acne scarring to improve cosmetic appearance.
  • generally used for isolated lesions

Face peels restore a more youthful look and feel to your skin.

A chemical face peel is a cosmetic treatment to remove dead skin cells and stimulate new cell growth. Face peels are popular to rejuvenate the skin and improve a number of skin concerns. Most commonly they are used for either anti-aging skin care or repair of sun damaged skin.

A face peel used restore more youthful skin.

Facial chemical peels restore a more youthful appearance by:

  • reducing appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • creating a smoother skin surface: removing scaly rough patches
  • restoring a more even skin colour: effectively reducing or removing unwanted skin pigmentation.
  • Chemical face peels: what type is best for your skin?

The type and number of peels required depend on your skin type and the concerns that need addressing. The degree of sun damage, skin pigmentation, enlarged or congested pores, skin ageing, or a tendency to acne determine what peel is best for your face.

    1. The best peels for pigmentation: AHA face peels such as glycolic or lactic acid are best for pigmentation. The lactic acid is more hydrating, making it a better choice for mature, dry skin affected by pigmentation. This can be combined with 100% ascorbic acid or vitamin C. Though not strictly a peel ascorbic acid has enormous skin lightening and brightening qualities.

    2. The best peels for acne: Salicylic acid or (BHA) peels are the best for acne. These peels are oil soluble and the only peels that can penetrate into pores to exfoliate, remove oil and unblock pores, clear acne and blackheads. They are also anti-inflammatory and help settle skin irritation. Once again for overall skin brightening they can be layered with vitamin C to give your skin a true boost.

    3. The best peels for sun damage: If surface roughness, texture problems or fine lines and wrinkles concern you glycolic or lactic acid peels the best choice to restore a more youthful glow.

    4. The best peels for congested enlarged pores: once again salicylic acid peels are the best.

Our peels can be layered: If you have a combination of problems we can individualise your treatment and layer solutions to address multiple concerns in one treatment.

It is best to book in for a free skin analysis to discuss your concerns and we can advise which face peel or combination will help your particular skin.

    Face Peel Cost

A chemical facial peel at SkinRevision costs $70- $90 per peel.

Because you require more than one peel for optimum treatment we offer buy 2 and get the 3rd peel free.

So YOU get three peels for $140 to $180.

Glycolic Peels: perfect to improve skin pigmentation problems.

A Glycolic Peel creates a safe and painless exfoliation to remove surface damaged and dead skin layers, skin pigmentation and increase cell turnover to stimulate new healthy skin cell production. The rejuvenation process not only helps create a more even skin tone but also results in healthier plumper skin surface cells.

Glycolic Peels: perfect to improve skin pigmentation problems.

    What are glycolic acid peels?

Glycolic acid is an AHA derived from sugar cane and one of the first acids used for cosmetic rejuvenation of the skin. Because of its ability to help reverse signs of sun damage and pigmentation safely, glycolic acid facial peels are a popular choice for treating many signs of premature aging.

A Glycolic Peel can be performed on the face, neck, chest, hands and even the arms and legs.

Glycolic acid facial peel quick facts.

  • Glycolic acid peels do tingle but should not be painful.
  • The peel procedure is timed and carefully monitored by our Peel Specialist.
  • Glycolic acid peels are not recommended during pregnancy or if you have very sensitive skin.
  • Glycolic peels for skin pigmentation problems.

  • A series of peels is recommended to achieve maximum results: generally 6 treatments.
  • When treating pigmentation glycolic peels can be safely combined with fading creams and even IPL.
  • After your glycolic peel.

  • There is no downtime with a glycolic peel, you can return to work immediately.
  • As with any resurfacing it is important to wear SPF 30+ sunscreen daily because you skin will be more susceptible to sun damage.
  • We advise using Mineral makeup after peels for skin protection.
  • You may notice skin peeling around 4 days after a glycolic peel.
  • A glycolic peel smoothes and softens the skin, diminishes fine lines and lightens skin pigmentation to create a more even skin colour and texture.

    Glycolic Peel Cost

A facial peel at SkinRevision costs $70- $90 per peel.

Because you require more than one peel for optimum treatment we offer buy 2 and get the 3rd peel free.

So YOU get three peels for $140 to $180.

Chemical peels: to improve skin colour, texture and quality.

A modern chemical peel removes the surface layers of dead skin cells without traumatising the deeper skin layers. All peels have varying levels of resurfacing to induce collagen production, improve pigmentation, acne, sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles, scarring and in general improve the look and feel of your skin.

Chemical Peel Brisbane:safely treat a number of skin concerns.

    What is a chemical peel?

A chemical peel involves applying a solution to the skin to peel outer layers. This refreshes the skin to remove rough scaly patches, reduce pigmentation, settle acne and improve skin texture.

The solutions we use in cosmetic peels are familiar to most: AHA (glycolic and lactic acid), BHA (salicylic acid) and vitamin C. These cosmetic acids are used in varying strengths to rejuvenate sun damaged skin and pigmentation as well as clear acne.

At SkinRevision Brisbane we use four solutions, which can be layered to tailor the benefits of the peel for your skin type. We first analyse your skin to determine the best peel solution (or combination of peels solutions) for your skin concerns.

    Peels offered at SkinRevision

    1. Glycolic acid:(sugarcane sugar) A safe peel for pigmentation and sun damage, premature aging. Achieve a more even skin colour with smoother texture and quality.

    2. Lactic Acid (Milk sugar) A hydrating peel that is excellent for pigmentation as well as restoring moisture to mature sun damaged skin with fine lines and roughness. This is a favourite especially combined with 100% vitamin C.

    3. BHA/Salicylic acid peel: because it is oil soluble this peel is ideal for anyone who has congested skin. Used to enhance acne settling, clear blackheads, white heads and enlarged pores. Salicylic acid peels can be combined with extractions or alternated with microdermabrasion. Once again combining with vitamin C gives your skin a boost.

    4. 100% vitamin C, though not strictly a peel, this is a potent skin lightener and skin brightener. It can be used in combination with microdermabrasion, on its own or combined with the above peels

    Chemical Peel Cost

A facial peel at SkinRevision costs $70- $90 per peel (Depending on the combination of treatment).

Because you require more than one peel for optimum treatment we offer buy 2 and get the 3rd peel free.

So YOU get three peels for $140 to $180.

Microdermabrasion For Healthy Skin At Any Age.

Microdermabrasion for women in Brisbane: If you have ever had a microdermabrasion, you will know that nothing feels quite so good as the really clean, smooth skin feeling you get after treatment. Your skin looks and feels great.

Microdermabrasion is a non surgical skin resurfacing technique that achieves improved skin health, texture and quality without peeling, chemicals or injury.

Being a cosmetic medicine clinic, dealing with skin health every day, we thought through the process to tailor our microdermabrasion treatments specifically for Brisbane women.

Microdermabrasion needs to be affordable because
for best skin health you should get microdermabrasion regularly.

What climatic factors influence skin health in Brisbane.

    In Brisbane:

  • we age more prematurely than our southern sisters because of the harshness of our sun
  • skin congestion and acne are more pervasive because of the humid climate
  • Our harsh sun causes multiple changes to the skin:

  • reduces cell turnover causing accumulation of thickened, dead compacted skin cells on the surface, creating a coarser skin texture and enlarged pores
  • depletes the skin of anti oxidants, which are essential to combat UV damage
  • causes micro inflammation in the skin
  • causes damage to collagen and elastin which leads to fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Anti-aging Microdermabrasion Brisbane

  • microdermabrasion removes dead compacted outer layers of skin, improving skin texture and quality, refines pore size, stimulate new cell growth and collagen production
  • Our microdermabrasion and aftercare includes anti-inflammatory anti-oxidants to mop up free radicals and fight sun damage.
  • All our microdermabrasion treatments use high quality antioxidants, we recommend this as regular skin care. The skin products we sell are affordable science based recommendations.

For you to buy the complete range of the skin care with cleanser, exfoliant (AHA, BHA), concentrated antioxidant serum and moisturiser will cost you around $160-170 for nearly two months of product.

Anti congestion and anti- acne Brisbane Microdermabrasion.

Microdermabrasion includes suction as well as controlled exfoliation making it excellent
to clear skin congestion and settle acne rapidly.

  • clearing black heads, white heads
  • clearing obstruction that underlies acne and helping it to settle more rapidly
  • Our anti congestion microdermabrasion includes use of antioxidants to settle inflammation in the skin, anti inflammatory agents to help skin heal and to minimise trauma and scarring potential, as well as protect against sun damage.

All our microdermabrasion treatments includes extractions:
to really clear up enlarged pores, blackheads and acne.

As on ongoing preventative treatment, nothing compares to regular microdermabrasion to maintain optimum skin health

Microdermabrasion is not a panacea for all skin conditions, for example is not the optimum treatment for acne scarring or pigmentation, these are best improved with a range of other cosmetic medical treatments. When you come in for your free assessment, one of our expert staff will advise of your options for what is concerning you.
