A chemical peel removes surface layers of skin cells to bring about rejuvenation. All peels have varying levels of resurfacing to induce collagen production, improve pigmentation, acne, sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles, scarring and in general improve the look and feel of your skin.
At SkinRevision we offer superficial peels (provided by Cosmetic Therapist) and medium level peels (performed by a Cosmetic Doctor).

What is a chemical peel?
A chemical peel involves applying a solution to the skin to peel outer layers. This refreshes the skin to remove rough scaly patches, reduce pigmentation, settle acne and improve skin texture.
The solutions we use in cosmetic peels are familiar to most: Superficial peels include AHA (glycolic and lactic acid), BHA (salicylic acid), vitamin C and medium level peels include TCA peel. These cosmetic acids are used in varying strengths to rejuvenate sun damaged skin and pigmentation as well as clear acne.
At SkinRevision Brisbane we use different solutions, which can be layered to tailor the benefits of the peel for your skin type. We first analyse your skin to determine the best peel solution (or combination of peels solutions) for your skin concerns.
Peels offered at SkinRevision
1. Glycolic acid:(sugarcane sugar) A safe peel for pigmentation and sun damage, premature aging. Achieve a more even skin colour with smoother texture and quality.
2. Lactic Acid (Milk sugar) A hydrating peel that is excellent for pigmentation as well as restoring moisture to mature sun damaged skin with fine lines and roughness. This is a favourite especially combined with 100% vitamin C.
3. BHA/Salicylic acid peel: because it is oil soluble this peel is ideal for anyone who has congested skin. Used to enhance acne settling, clear blackheads, white heads and enlarged pores. Salicylic acid peels can be combined with extractions or alternated with microdermabrasion. Once again combining with vitamin C gives your skin a boost.
4. 100% vitamin C, though not strictly a peel, this is a potent skin lightener and skin brightener. It can be used in combination with microdermabrasion, on its own or combined with the above peels
5. A TCA peel is a medium level peel that involves downtime and more extensive peeling, consequently the outcome of this peel is superior and requires only one. These peels are performed by one of our Doctors and requires assessment for suitability. For information and costs related to TCA peels.
