The number one skin problem that annoys and irritates people is acne. Next in line are enlarged pores, blackheads and whiteheads. They are all caused from pore dysfunction. Men and women both get enlarged and congested pores. It tends to be hereditary with higher occurrence in men.
Can anything reduce pore size?
The answer is yes, and it requires a very simple inexpensive product-Salicylic Acid or BHA.
How does salicylic acid reduce pore size?
Enlarged pores are caused by overproduction of oil and skin cells inside the pore. The pores become clogged with accumulated sebum and dead cells, and slowly enlarge. Salicylic acid is the only product that penetrates the oil and acts to exfoliate deep inside the pore. (Forget all the advertisements claiming to deep clean a pore, salicylic acid is the only thing that will). Using salicylic acid continuously progressively empties the pore, giving it a chance to shrink back down in size.
The process is made quicker with microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion speeds up and enhances shrinkage of pores. Using the combination will give superior results, although plain old salicylic acid on its own does a mighty fine job.
We sell a very cosmetically elegant salicylic acid lotion cost $36 for 118ml, which should last about 2 months. Microdermabrasion packages are available for people who want enhanced clearance.

Thanks Jo,
Any maybe this is a bit of a dumb question, but can you recommend how/where to buy salicylic acid? Is this something I can buy “over the counter” from a compounding lab? I hate my open pores around my nose and am getting married later this year, and would LOVE this antidote.
many thanks
Lynda

Do you use Salicylic acid instead of a cleanser, or toner??
Thanks
Sian

Hi Sian, the Salicylic acid is a gel that you apply after cleansing. It is not used instead of the cleanser or toner. To have an impact on enlarged pores, you need to apply the product and let it stay on the skin so it can have real benifit. regards Jo

I am just wondering whether you have a 2% salicylic acid preparation in cream form rather than gel?
