Skin needling for acne scarring.
Acne scarring causes considerable distress as well as contributing to premature aging of the skin. Skin Needling provides effective treatment for depressed Acne Scars and cosmetic improvement.
What is skin needling?
Skin needling is a procedure that uses a medical roller to create multiple tiny punctures into the skin to induce new collagen growth to repair acne scarring and improve the skins appearance.
Skin needling has been used for many years and first popularised by a South African plastic surgeon Dr Des Fernandez.
How does skin needling improve acne scars?
The process of skin needling induces collagen production which creates progressive repair and support under depressed acne scars. A series of treatments is required, and results are generally seen after about 6 weeks. The amount of improvement varies between individuals and there is no way of determining this prior to starting treatment.

How To Treat Blackheads
Treating blackhead with conventional treatments of pore strips, scrubs and facials will not work, except to temporarily extract the contents. Blackheads are caused from a build up of sebum (oil) in the skin pores and blockage of the pore with exfoliated dead skin cells. Being open to air, the sebum and clogged material oxidise and turns dark. Hence the term blackhead.
Treatment of blackheads involves exfoliation of pore contents.
Why Conventional Treatments Do Not Get Rid Of Blackheads.
Salicylic Acid Exfoliates The Pore
BHA (beta hydroxy acid) or Salicylic Acid is the only product that will penetrate the oil in the oil gland and exfoliate the contents and pore lining. Because it progressively exfoliates and empties the pore, the pore is able to shrink and become more refined.
Salicylic acid products needs to be concentration of 1-2% in ph approximately 3. Very few products even if they say they contain salicylic acid will be of sufficient concentration or at appropriate ph to work.
We sell a very good BHA gel.
We sell a very good Salicylic acid gel: Cost $41, 2% concerntration and correct ph. They can be applied once or twice daily and progressively will clear and refine pores over coming weeks and months. It is safe to use long term as part of skin routine.
In early stages if you want a really speedy clearance of blackheads combine the salicylic acid gel with microdermabrasion. SIMPLE.
Call 07 33505447 to try 2% Salicylic Acid Gel and book your microdermabrasion for really rapid clearance of blackheads.

Acne Treatment And Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is an excellent treatment to rapidly settle mild to moderate acne. It works like a deep cleansing (sucking out and mildly abrading pore obstruction) to resolve pimples, whiteheads and blackheads.
The layer of skin that is removed in very fine and consists of dead skin cells that have been adding to pore obstruction and acne, so the skin is not damaged in the process
A study on ‘The Use Of Microdermabrasion For Acne’ by the Ohio Medical Centre concluded that 96% percent of patients were pleased with their Microdermabrasion results and would recommend it to others. According to this study: “medical microdermabrasion has ’satisfactory to excellent results’ on acne; microdermabrasion can be ‘effectively used’ to fight mild forms of acne…”

How Do You Get Your Acne To Settle?
Acne is a distressing condition affecting more than 80% of teenagers and many adults.
There is no miracle cure for acne; however a thorough treatment plan with skin care, prescription treatments and physical therapies can settle acne and prevent permanent scarring.
Treatment Of Acne At SkinRevision
Dr Ansulette Kay specialises in acne treatment. Having severe acne in her teenage years and gone through the mill of trialling skin care and Doctors giving different advice, she not only understands the distress but is passionate about helping others who suffer.
Dr Ansulette Kay
A well managed plan can bring acne under control and prevent scarring. My approach is to treat acne aggressively from the outset and once the acne starts to settle we can take out some of the treatments.
