    Mineral Makeup As Camouflage

Mineral Makeup Perfect To Camouflage Broken Capillaries And Rosacea

Youngblood mineral makeup is made from naturally mined minerals and pigments that are ground to produce a light powder. They come in either a powder or liquid form: which is moisturising and more appropriate for less young skin.

Youngblood mineral makeup is entirely natural and perfect for camouflaging
broken capillaries and redness of rosacea.

  • does not create a heavy ‘make up’
  • feels light on the skin
  • Youngblood mineral makeup is appropriate for:

  • Someone with normal skin who wants a natural soft makeup cover.
  • Someone who needs makeup that will not not sweat off but still allows the skin to breath
  • Camouflaging broken capillaries or redness of rosacea for a natural even skin tone. (It can also be used on neck and chest area for sun damaged reddening.)
  • Camouflaging acne blemishes: mineral makeup is safe to use in people prone to blemishes, or suffering from acne as it DOES NOT CLOG PORES
  • Camouflaging pigmentation for a beautiful natural skin tone.

    What is skin needling?

Skin needling is a procedure that uses a medical roller to create multiple tiny punctures into the skin to induce new collagen growth to repair acne scarring and improve the skins appearance.

Skin needling has been used for many years and first popularised by a South African plastic surgeon Dr Des Fernandez.

How does skin needling improve acne scars?

The process of skin needling induces collagen production which creates progressive repair and support under depressed acne scars. A series of treatments is required, and results are generally seen after about 6 weeks. The amount of improvement varies between individuals and there is no way of determining this prior to starting treatment.

How To Treat Pimples?: The answer is early and aggressively.

Pimples are very common: Reported in the Medical Journal of Australia by Dr Greg Goodman
Acne and acne scarring: why should we treat? The incidence of acne is:

  • 95%-100% 16-17-year-old boys
  • 83%-85% in 16-17-year-old girls.
  • Usually it is self limiting and the acne lesions and pimples will resolve themselves eventually however:

  • 1% of men and 5% of women still bear acne lesions at 40 years of age.
  • Pimples should be treated early to prevent scarring

Why Treat Pimples If They Resolve Themselves?

  • Pimples do not look good and they do not feel good.
  • Affected teenagers hate them: it makes them feel self conscious, embarrassed, unhappy and anxious.
  • The other major reason: risk of scarring.

  • if left untreated scarring may affect up to 95% of people with pimples.
  • Acne Scarring Is Preventable

The treatment of acne is medical, and requires the best and most effective combination of treatments to ensure risk of acne scarring is kept to a minimum.

    How To Treat Blackheads

Treating blackhead with conventional treatments of pore strips, scrubs and facials will not work, except to temporarily extract the contents. Blackheads are caused from a build up of sebum (oil) in the skin pores and blockage of the pore with exfoliated dead skin cells. Being open to air, the sebum and clogged material oxidise and turns dark. Hence the term blackhead.

Treatment of blackheads involves exfoliation of pore contents.

How To Get Rid Of Blackheads

Why Conventional Treatments Do Not Get Rid Of Blackheads.

  • Pore strips can only empty the pore temporarily. Because they do nothing to exfoliate or stabilise the pore lining the blackhead will accumulate again very quickly.
  • Extracting the contents with facials also only help temporarily
  • Scrubs only work on the surface and have no hope of cleaning out the pore: these are useless.
  • Salicylic Acid Exfoliates The Pore

BHA (beta hydroxy acid) or Salicylic Acid is the only product that will penetrate the oil in the oil gland and exfoliate the contents and pore lining. Because it progressively exfoliates and empties the pore, the pore is able to shrink and become more refined.

Salicylic acid products needs to be concentration of 1-2% in ph approximately 3. Very few products even if they say they contain salicylic acid will be of sufficient concentration or at appropriate ph to work.

We sell a very good BHA gel.

We sell a very good Salicylic acid gel: Cost $41, 2% concerntration and correct ph. They can be applied once or twice daily and progressively will clear and refine pores over coming weeks and months. It is safe to use long term as part of skin routine.

In early stages if you want a really speedy clearance of blackheads combine the salicylic acid gel with microdermabrasion. SIMPLE.

Call 07 33505447 to try 2% Salicylic Acid Gel and book your microdermabrasion for really rapid clearance of blackheads.

    Acne Treatment And Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is an excellent treatment to rapidly settle mild to moderate acne. It works like a deep cleansing (sucking out and mildly abrading pore obstruction) to resolve pimples, whiteheads and blackheads.

The layer of skin that is removed in very fine and consists of dead skin cells that have been adding to pore obstruction and acne, so the skin is not damaged in the process

    Acne Treatment And Microdermabrasion

A study on ‘The Use Of Microdermabrasion For Acne’ by the Ohio Medical Centre concluded that 96% percent of patients were pleased with their Microdermabrasion results and would recommend it to others. According to this study: “medical microdermabrasion has ’satisfactory to excellent results’ on acne; microdermabrasion can be ‘effectively used’ to fight mild forms of acne…”

    Lip Enhancement, Rejuvenation And Augmentation.

    Lip Enhancement

Lip enhancement is a procedure using lip fillers to change the shape, size or balance of the lips. This is typically a performed in women 18-45, although as long as you are over 18 there is no age limit.
    Lip enhancement is used to:

  • restore balance if there is a thin upper or lower lip
  • create asymmetry between left and right side of lips
  • just for fun : to achieve naturally fuller lips
  • Thin uneven lips before enhancement. After lip enhancement for thin uneven lips.

Before lip enhancement Fuller Lips after enhancement.

    Lip Rejuvenation

Lip Rejuvenation is a term applied to restoration of less young lips.
Typically it is performed in women 40 and older.
    This involves:

  • reducing lip lines and wrinkles around the lip
  • restoring definition to the lip boarder to stop the lip stick bleeds
  • usually a little volume increase to restore lips that have thinned with the aging process.
  • Before rejuvenation lip wrinkles. After lip wrinkle rejuvenatation.

    Lip Augmentation

Lip Augmentation or ‘cheiloplasty’ strictly applies to lip cosmetic surgery, using fat injections into the lips. However the term is often used interchangeably with lip enhancement. Few women go down the surgical path because of the choice available in dermal fillers.

What is the best lip filler?

The best filler for you depends on your natural lip shape, your age and what lip shape you desire. At SkinRevision we are trained in the full range of injectable lip enhancement fillers to achieve whatever shape or rejuvenation you desire.

    Acne Treatment

How Do You Get Your Acne To Settle?

Acne is a distressing condition affecting more than 80% of teenagers and many adults.

There is no miracle cure for acne; however a thorough treatment plan with skin care, prescription treatments and physical therapies can settle acne and prevent permanent scarring.

    Treatment Of Acne At SkinRevision

Dr Ansulette Kay specialises in acne treatment. Having severe acne in her teenage years and gone through the mill of trialling skin care and Doctors giving different advice, she not only understands the distress but is passionate about helping others who suffer.

    Dr Ansulette Kay

A well managed plan can bring acne under control and prevent scarring. My approach is to treat acne aggressively from the outset and once the acne starts to settle we can take out some of the treatments.

  • Some parents are concerned about there children being on antibiotics. This is sometimes necessary, but the aim is to use these for as short a time as possible.
  • Easing the obstruction of acne is the primary measure and use of topical creams and microdermabrasion can bring about very rapid settling.
  • In very severe cases I do refer to a Dermatologist however the majority of acne can be controlled without this.
